Firewire input malfunction

I have a problem with the input of my DVX. It's the original one in its PAL version. I usually didn't have problems with editing to tape, but now it doesn't work at all.
I use Final Cut Pro and during a project I connected the camera to a small TV for monitoring the results. I guess it's not a good idea to use the DVX as an all-time monitoring device, but I don't have the money for a decklink card (yet).

Now FCP doesn't recognize the dvx as an output device, and when I try from other programs, like iMovie HD, the application crashes.

My question is: Is it broken, or is there a way to make it work again? Maybe I changed some settings, but I've tried everything since that happened.

Try an unistall and re install of the program? I use my DVX as a monitor output all the time and have never had that problem. I use a PC though....

Thanks, I'll try that, but now I'm in the middle of my zombi-piece editing, and I'll wait to do any change in my system until I finish.
I guess it's kind of a punishment because two days ago I told someone in the forum to change to apple to avoid troubles...
