firewire capture only works in VCR/DUB mode

[robertwerden]

For the first time today I was trying to connect via firewire the hvx to my laptop running vista. I have Sony Vegas pro8 and when I attempted to capture live video it would only work in VCR/DUB mode which is 480 res.

Is there a way to do this in 720 or 1080?

No, not with Vegas's vidcap program.

I suppose you could try the HDV capture program, but I wouldn't expect stellar results, if any.
