firewire better quality than tape?

Does anyone know if you get any better quality capturing through firewire, as opposed to tape?

I swear the video i get always looks a little cleaner to me, but it might just be in my head.

From everything i have read and tried, they are exactly the same. The only thing that could cause a quality difference is if the heads on the camera are dirty.

It's in your head. The video is exactly the same. It's the same 1s and 0s either way.

The benefits of FW for other reasons are obvious, but its good to know im getting the same quality
