Firewire and timestamp transfer DVD recorder...

I understand the time code will NOT be transfered on firewire from the camera (original 100) to a DVD recorder. Any workarounds?
 
The time stamp seems to work with the svideo and RGB cables only on the DVX100 original. I wonder if that has been fixed with the newer models?
 
Timecode is transferred via firewire. If the DVD recorder chooses to use it, that's up to the DVD recorder. But it's inherently imbedded in the firewire signal at all times. It won't be on the picture though; there's no way to do that... but since the DVD recorder would have to recompress anyway, it'd be up to them to add a feature to time-stamp the timecode.
