Firestore vs. tape>deck workflow

I am reaching the top of my 20k budget for all my gear and editing software. I'm kind of at the either or point of a deck vs. firestore for the HD-110. Definaltely leaning towards the firestore for workflow ease, as well as the ability to back up recording on to tape.
Anyone go the similar route?

Any pitfalls I'm overlooking?

Finally, does the firestore unit work well Final Cut Studio?

Thanks for any replies.

The DR-HD100 has an option that works with .MOV 720/30P. I am bata testing the 720/24P to .MOV now and it seems great. It is supposed to be released soon.

The DR-HD100 can also record into .m2t and using MPEG STREAMCLIP (free), you can batch convert all the clips also.
