I was shooting this weekend, 720/24P to my firestore drive, using the P2 PN setting on the Firestore drive to remove the extra frames....But about halfway through the shoot, I noticed that my Firestore had randomly switched back to the P2 setting. Not sure why this switch happened...
Anyway, now I'm editing in Final Cut, using the easy setup of DVCPROHD 720/24P. Most of the video works fine, but the video shot when the drive was set to just P2, not PN, is definitely different...when I bring it down to the timeline, it tells me that the clip is in a different format, and asks if I want to change my timeline settings. my question is, do I need to run these clips through Cinema Tools to remove the duplicate frames before mixing it in a timeline with the PN clips? I've never shot using straight 720P, i've always used the native settings...so I'm not familiar with the process for working with video that hasn't had the extra frames removed.
And has anyone else experienced this with their Firestore? Its not the first time I've noticed it, but I've always just worked around it. (I'm thinking it has something to do with being disconnected from the camera while recording...)
Thanks!
