Firestore Playback on 370 ?

Anyone using firestores on their 370?..... While the system works and all recording seems to be fine... Ive yet to find a way to preview footage in the camera off the firestore.

Sure would be nice to NOT need a laptop on site just to double check footage..... Anyone?

Did some testing and it turns out you CAN preview firestore content in-camera. Its hardly worth it as the FS100 just wasn't built with the 370 in mind. No HD it can only be DV recording and several other items which pretty much kills the thought of using the firestore.

I really dont like the P2's limited storage capacity...128 gig isnt much when your used to 6 hours worth of 1080i. if anyone see's any other options at NAB, please chime in

Maybe I'm not quite understanding your needs, but there are a number of HD recorders with SDI I/O already on the market, like AJA's KiPro and Fast Forward's SideKick. These 2 record to ProRes (HQ or regular).

Everything I shoot with my 370 is brought into Final Cut Pro as ProRes, and recording directly to ProRes on the KiPro is full raster 10bit 4:2:2. Do you do something differently with your AVC100?

You can always swap cards mid shoot. If you switch cards every 64 min (or so)you would have an infinite record time.

Hi Guys..... if you are going out to a Ki Mini pro..... does that mean:

1. over/under crank can still be done thru SDI ?
2. if your pulling straight from imager and by passing compression how does that affect 576/ 720 or 1080P ?
3. do I loose the option to shoot at 24P / 1080i or 1080/24P ?

Just trying to get my head around these units
