Firestore FS-4...What's up with the battery?

Hey all. Just received my FS-4 in the mail and was pretty excited until I started playing with it. This thing was delayed so long you would think it would be built to perfection, but once I tried to put the battery in place I was in for a surprise. It takes a lot of work and forcing to get the battery to seat fine and then once you get it on you have to pry it off...not good at all. Not only will it make battery changes quick and easy, but you have to wedge something into the crack to pry the thing off, which will wear out the paint and plastic on the battery.

I though maybe it was a fluke so I decided to insert the other battery and the same thing happened. With 90 minutes of usage and having to charge it with the battery attached to the unit, I'm not impressed to say the least.

I don't know what I'm going to do, but I'll keep you posted.

I think you might have misunderstood what I wrote. The unit needs to have the battery to run and it fits on the harddrive so tight that it won't come off easily...that's the only problem so far.
 
insanityfw, use velcro, with the "fuzzy" side on the FS4. Glue it on with silicone adhesive (don't use much) then you can remove it if you need to. It takes two velcro strips, one top one bottom. Works perfectly.
 
OOH YEAH i have seen the broadcast kits in the field. thats neat they made it for the DV... thanks for the heads up.
