Firestore FS-4 Pro

I just won a bid on ebay for a FS-4 Pro 80GB for my DVX. What would be the best quality, but most efficient file types to record? I edit in FCP so I know quicktime is the native file type, but would recording to something like .mts or raw DV be better?

I've never recorded with FS but that's interesting
let me know if things go well, I might want to try this method too
good luck

i love my fs4 its save alot of capture time but i always run tape as back up you may sometimes have a few drop frames

I will use tape for major stuff like weddings and one-time events, but the whole reason I got this was so I don't have to pay $200 for a box of 50 tapes every few months.

I am now waiting for the arrival of the camera mounting package. But the hard drive arrived today (finally!) and so far I love it! I am glad I was able to get the pro with all the extra features. I love the time lapse recording and pre-rec (called retro cache on the device). Also, the workflow is great. I am shooting a music video next saturday, so it will put this thing to the test. I will keep you guys posted tomorrow when I shoot some more stuff and actually see how it performs in various conditions.

let us know if you perfer to recording to tape or FS.
if the FS is a pain to use I'll just keep using tapes.
