I have PP1.5 still and have been messing with my new fs-4 HD and my DVX100b. Trying to find the best 24p solution. The firestore has quicktime24p and AVI type2 24p. I have been testing the AVI type2 with the camera. It will not allow 24Pa footage to merge into PP without a lot of choppyness. Same with After effects. If I watch the raw footage, it is smooth. After testing, I came up with this solution. I would like to hear if anyone else has a standard solution.
Camera set to #5 preset 24p (squeeze)
firestore set to 24p AVI type2
Premier Pro project set to 24p
I just dont see why I cannot use 24Pa without getting the choppy/glitchyness. Even the manual on the Firestore says to use the advanced 24P setting. Is Premier Pro the problem? Is there a different way of capturing that I dont know about? I have not had this problem with a tape capture.
