Hello, i have a canon gl1 camera, the thing is that the heads of the camera are far dead, and for every 30 seconds i record, 10 have noise and audio jumps and noise to. im planing on buying the FireStore FS-4, does someone has any recomendation on this hardware?
Personally, I'd buy another camera than to have to rely on the Firestore. I think in Mexico as it is in Arizona where I'm at, you may have the fan running a bit too often too keep it cool and that will interfere with your sound.
Hey insanityfw....you have a Firestore and I live just down the road from you. I was giving it some thought but I didn't think about the fan, although that would only interfere with the on camera mic....which I don't use. I think I'm going to pass on the Firestore anyway since I seem to have blown my in camera firewire board and can only capture from another deck (camera). Still I think the Firestore is a good product, especially for saving on those precious heads as long as you don't mind being connected to another piece of hardware. We're losing all our freedom with so much essential non-essential equipment we seem to have to have, takes forever to start shooting.
I also I m thinking to buy one. But the FireStore is already a myth: noisy fan, great other advantages. Low battery >_<, long capacity ^_^ (even for non pro).
It seems it's not good to shoot 24P. Is this also a myth or it's just good?
A quote from Guy Cochran of dvcreators.com
"You can record QuickTime 24P as an option on the FireStore. I have not used
this mode w/ FCP, but hear it works fine"
