Firestore fs-100 vs smaller drives

Hello everyone,

I hope this won´t seem like too simple of a question, but I´m thinking of buying a fs-100 hard disk. However, when I started looking at the prices it occured to me that the 40 gigabyte older hard drives are selling a lot cheaper, for the same price as fs-100 I could buy 4 of the smaller ones and have 160 Gb...

Anyway, my question is, what differences are there apart from the size... sure, size matters, but does the 40 Gb hard drive work just the same or are there some other technical aspects I am not taking into account? Any recommendations?

Are you refering to other Firestores? If so, the FS100 is the only one that works with the HVX.

The FS-100 only comes in one size.

It is the only model specifically geared to work with the HVX200 in HD.

So the fs 4 or fs 4 pro will not work with Panasonic HVX200 to record in high definition? Thank you so much for the information, that solves my problem then -- I will just have to invest the bigger bucks required for fs-100

I believe you can use those with SD.
