Firestore FS-100 720P Quicktime PN Problem

I recently shot some footage on my HVX200 using my Firestore FS-100 (updated with the latest firmware). I shot in 720P Quicktime PN and was able to pull off my footage onto my MAC with no problems and edit in FCP.

I have since had to send all the footage to someone else to continue the editing but they are working in Windows enviroment in Premiere. They are having troubles with their computer & premiere recognizing the files. Any suggestions? Are they going to need a special codec to work with the Quicktime PN footage captured from the Firestore? When opening the files they are seeing no video, but can hear audio.

Thanks in advance.

The Quicktime files that the FS-100 makes are only usable on Macintosh computers.

You can buy and install the DVFilm Raylight Quicktime Decoder program to make those files readable on Windows.

shouldn't there also be a way that Jeff can export them from FCP to a Premiere-readable format? I've never done such a thing, but that would be my first approach...

Sure, you just can't use the DVCProHD codec that FCP used when it originally converted the files to QuickTime containers.

It has to be a codec that exists on both platforms. Uncompressed might actually be the best way to go.

Yes, of course uncompressed would work, but then the files would grow enormously. Using the dvfilm quicktime decoder, you could use the same exact files you've already got.

But yes, either way would work.
