Firestore fs-100 2gig limit on files

I have a firestore fs-100. when i imported my clips they are a bunch of 2gig files (even if I shot for longer). I read that this is the way the firestore works and i don'thave the option of having one continous clip. Have you guys found a way to add them together easily? Instead of having to go through them one at a time?

I read something about "dependent" clips but i'm not sure how to do it.

If i stack them together on the timeline and export them as a self contained movie, will i lose something besides the timecode?

Any program that joins them out yet?

thanks!!

You guys rock!!

It is this way because the hard drive recorders are formatted as a FAT partition and FAT does not go over 2 GB per file.

You can lay them all in a sequence and edit that sequence, but it slows down the editing process. I've found to just put the clips next to each other in the timeline when you have a shot that was continuous between files. That's pretty much all you can do. I don't think the HD based recorders keep timecode though if I'm not mistaken because of the FAT issue. Although it will keep timecode for each clip.
