Firestore Corruption .mxf Converter.

I shot a short this weekend with the HVX, lens adapter recording to FIRESTORE. A few of our takes/SET-UPS thumbnailed as one clip. This clip (label 'spanned') somehow got corrupted. I had to clear the firestore (rental returns) but I have the .mxf, .xml and audio files from the corrupted clip.

How can I convert these files into an .mov (or another video fomat) so I can actually cut the footage?

Also, any insight as to why a Firestore's clip can get corrupted?

If you are trying to import into FCP 5.1.2, you have been bitten by the FCP 5.1.2 bug.

Trying importing into FCP 5.1.1, if you can dig that up.

i went from 5.1 to 5.1.2. How will I get/find 5.1.1? After I've got it, how I do install a previous version?
