Looking for some opinions. I have a FS-100 that needs repair and it's a $295 flat fee through focus enhancements. When on a shoot we film for up to 10 hours a day and record in QT PN so we get 217 minutes of actual record time. Stopping & dumping footage often is not the best for us. The unit is about 7 years old and I haven't really paid attention to what is in the market now and looking for some advice.

I have the same problem with an FSC, One of the Firewire ports got fried when it was hot swapped. It's insulting to get charged a flat fee of 300.00 for a firewire port. I took it apart in less than 5 minutes. So it couldn't take more than an hour to solder in a new port . But whatever, I will never use another, or buy another product from them. Nor will I ever recomend them to anyone. Their customer service is terrible, their policy is terrible. And it cost them a bunch of customers that I know personally because of the 300.00 firewire port. Heck, for a couple hundred more, you can buy a t2i.
