jus like this film and Christianity, you'll find it is impossible to talk about W without bring up the politics behind it, thats all the film is, I mean you can only say brolen is or isnot a good actor so many times.

Agreed. I'm just stating what the Mods have already stated. This thread HAS gone overboard more than once. Over the line if you will. If politics took over the W thread it would get closed, it's that simple.

It shouldn't be tolerated and we are not all here to be preached at. Be it religion or politics.
I'm not saying that's what you are doing, but it has felt that way in this thread from time to time. Hence the deleted posts.

Cheers,

Mike

Exactly.

At this point I'd suggest that any discussion not directly related to Fireproof the film should be curtailed. It's already strayed several times, and understandably so, but we have rules to follow here.

If you wish to discuss religion as it relates to film, there is a nice community at: http://christianfilmmakers.org/

I'm definitely not trying to move traffic away from here, but offering a secondary place where you can satisfy the need/desire to discuss religion and film.

So, if you have comments directly related to Fireproof, then please feel free to add them. Otherwise, let's leave the religion in film discussions to other well suited places (as the link above).

The big deal is an openly Christian film shot on $500,000 starring a former Child star came in at #4 in the box office above "Burn After Reading" which starred two Hollywood A-listers. $16,000,000 later some people are pissed and are trying to figure out why and how it happened.

oh and Nate don't forget, this films only showing in a few theaters, people have driven 100s of miles more than once to see it.

and while films like Eagle Eye that opened the same weekend, are now leaving theaters, Fireproof the openly Christian film with a former child star actor is finally startting to open in more theaters, those people who traveled over 100 miles to see it 2 or 3 times, will gladly see it again now that its playing near them.

and I have to disagree with the idea that it's anything like a soup opera, no sex no drugs, no killing or being killed to come back to life and reviel that you never really died, you just fell in a ditch just before the bomb went off, but you hit your head so for the last 20 years you didn't know who your were, and you started a new life, got married and had kids, only to remember 20 years later that you're gay, and your gay lover has stayed single, pining away all these years, and now your confused, do you stay with your wife and kids or do you go back to Ramon who after all was your first true love?

yea FireProof is nothing like Days of our lives. yet its more like the days we actually go through than you'll ever see in a soap.

OMG, that's just hilarious and so true.

transformers, well anything with lebuf, anything with Afleck, anything with Cloony, anything with vendiesel, everyone in the new batman movies except Heath, theres a huge list of hack actors who like bill Shatner couldn't act there way out of a paper bag,

Fireproof has moments where the acting wasn't great, but it also had moments when the acting was amazing.

Keaton was the only Bat Bale seemed more Whiniy than Brudish,

Cameran did an awesome Job, and the big Fireman who drank the hot sause was too funny.

Wow - you don't like Clooney? He's one of my favs. As for LeBuf while I'm not a fans of the roles he picks, I don't have problems with him as an actor or Vin Diesel for the most part. And for Heath great actor, but he had a great part. I mean the "Joker" who for most people is the best comic book villian ever created.

BTW - You guys are getting off topic! The thread might get shut down again! hahaha

how are we getting off topic? we are comparing Kirk's and the other fireproof actors to actors in hollywood, per Spidey's statement that he felt the acting was bad. it is directly related to the film.

It's a Joke Jason... jeepers. :) The topic starting talking about actors instead of Fireproof making it in hollywood. The Sarcasm comes from if the topic strays towards a more religious subject it's bad, but when it strays to a neutral subject it's okay. It's a joke. Like if we started talking about trees and rivers - I doubt the thread would actually get shut down. :-Laugh(DBG)-1

Let's be honest guys.... Kirk is a GREAT guy... he really is... if you ever get a chance to meet him you'll understand why, just a real guy, no pretense...

But... I really don't think he's a gifted dramatic actor. Within' the context of a film like Fireproof he's serviceable, but only because the supporting cast isn't very strong. Put Kirk into a film like The Dark Knight, or Body of Lies, or whatever and his acting ability will look even weaker.

Again nothing against Kirk... but he's just not a very good dramatic actor.

Now Alan Thicke, on the other hand, is a modern-day Olivier...

Amazing acting?! We're talking about Kirk friggin Cameron here.
Jason, you've gone too far.
