FireFox Flicks

I'm looking for a fisheye for my dvx, I was wondering, is this the Fisheye lens or fisheye adaptor? Also, how did you avoid vignetting with this lens, doesnt it usually occur, or was this zoomed in a bit? I really enjoyed "Joyride." Very creative, liked the editing, great use of the fisheye. Great job. I really liked some of those sunset shots in your second spec ad as well. Again, great job!

Hey, excellent job- I'm still working on my submissions for the contest. Didn't find out about it until less than a week ago. LOL.

How'd you do the bike shots? Loved that one- both were cool, but I thought that one was excellent. Great energy to it. What was the camera setup?

Hi,

Yes - the centry optics fish eye is an adapter as the DVX has a fixed lens.....

The camera set up for the bike piece is simply hand held 24p with the fish eye.

The bike is a brakeless fixed gear so it helps to be commited. (I know the timing of the lights.)

As far as vignetting - I actually added some in post because I like it.

Thanks for your comments.

Oh man, the Joyride one was one of the greatest clips I've ever seen.

Great idea, and very well done.

I think mehnkle was asking you which fisheye adapter you had, the "fisheye adapter" - VS-FEWA-DVX or the ".3x ultra fisheye adapter" - VS-FE3X-DVX

Thank you for clearing that up bromar, that is what I meant; I was wondering which model of the fisheye lens you used for the dvx? I also rewatched your Joyride clip and don't see any black vignetting. Maybe a little light falloff, but not the usual definite black circle type of vignetting which usually comes with using a fisheye. Or does this even occur with the DVX and the Centiry fisheyes? You'd think with the already wide lens the DVX offers the vignetting would actually be much more pronounced than on other cameras.

Yeah,
Everyone should get a submission in. I mean how long should it really take to shoot a 30 second commercial spot? Deadline not til' friday.
Pete

So is the lens you used the Century "fisheye adapter" (VS-FEWA-DVX) or the ".3x ultra fisheye adapter" (VS-FE3X-DVX)? And also, how did you prevent the vignetting, or is there any when using this lens on the dvx? Thanks

I remember the ski nike spot of yours. You capture great images and colors. I swear, I can't believe we use the same camera...your images are sweet.

Love the bike one and love the surf one. Both winners. I hope they just give it to you.

EDIT: I just watched all the clips on your page. What cams are you shooting with? If you tell me all that stuff is DVX I'mm gunna freak out. Seriously. Lie to me if you have to.

Hey Rook,
Don't freak out dude. :kali: But most of the stuff on my site is shot with the DVX with the exception of for the "Prague" piece which is super-8. There is some stuff that was shot using a letus 35 adapter ( http://www.adapterplace.com/ ) with a 50mm prime lens ("Flames Go Higher" & "Nike") and other stuff shot with the century fish ("Joyride" & "Daredevil"). Also, I do a lot of color correction in post. Thanks for your compliments on my work - it means a lot.
