I have permission from the city to open a fire hyrdrant to simulate a car accident. I want the water of the fire hydrant to go up simulating thast the car hit the fire hydrant.
Ok here's the question how can I make possible the water to go up.
What can I put in the water hydrant to make the water go up/
I could appreciatte some ideas.

Just mount a splash shield of some sort to the front of the car, which would redirect the water upwards. Half of a wide PVC pipe should work, or even some wood maybe?

main thing is, you're dealing with a lot of pressure.

I'd try 4" or 6" PVC pipe with a 90 degree elbow, screwed, strapped & bolted to a 2x4 rig, which is bolted to the car bumper (or wherever). You need it to stay put, and be adjustable to line up with the hydrant.

My guess is fastening it to the hydrant would be trickier than the car, as the water pressure would be PUSHING the 90 against the car as opposed to PULLING it off the hydrant, capiche??

A cap on the up-side of the PVC could be punched out for more of a "spray" pattern as well, but man -- you want that sucker glued on GOOD, with plenty of openings.

TEST TEST TEST!!!

How about using one of those water jet sprays (used to wash cars with) and somehow use some hose pipe and stap them Behind the fire hydrant, just a thought.
