Finally the music video from the other thread

Looks good Horse. I like the jerky camera movement and the color correction. It's also cut pretty well and I like the location you chose. My only beef is that there's no secondary narrative. This style has been done to death, and you've done a good job of nailing down that style. Even just having some abstract creepy footage would break up the piece enough and keep the audience interested. Good work man. :)

Isaac- Thanks a lot! They originally wanted to do a concept video with very little band footage, but they couldn't really decide what they wanted to do and went with this. I agree 100%. This is not something that interests me visually, so I'll have to go shoot some creepy stuff and throw it in there. Now the fun starts.

PK- I appreciate it. Thanks!

Looks really good Horse!

Killer: Lighting, camera work, framing, song, song, song, direction (good set up, location, band's clothes, colors, band positioning, etc.), post, CC, cuts.

Wish list: A few wide shots of the whole band (I don't think there were any shots with the entire band), a dolly shot or slow pan just to break it up a little bit, acouple of ECUs (maybe the hand on mic, drummer hands, knobs on guitar ... something just break away from the humans for a sec or two. Oh ... and more of the uber-cool metal grim reaper!!!

Well done brutha.

Horse, I liked it man...slick as ****...you got a video there...
Here's my add ins....
Get the singer on his own, dark/ strange (but well-lit) location, I just kept thinking from behind a shower curtain...but thats me...have him freak a little, plus some nice gutter rips...all on CU or XCU then cut them in....
I wanted to see the first lick...you went to the rythm player...swap em round...The first hooded shot did'nt work for me either...just felt more set-up than the other stuff...
OVERALL.
I think you made all the right choices whith what you've got...handheld...you not too shakey for the amount you drink

I think we should start a metal directors thread...somewhere they only serve snakebite...the women are topless....midgets as barstaff. ..and they always play Battle Hymm or Freebird at the end of the night...
Good work fella, look forward to the final edit...

looks great already, if you can add more from a different location it would only become better

Thanks a lot for the encouragement and suggestions, guys! I'm meeting with the band tonight (I think) and I'll present some suggestions and see what they want to do.

This is my first time shooting a music video, so I really had no idea what I was doing. I'm just glad I didn't embarrass myself... yet.:)

Hey hey! Horse

Nice work brother. I'd agree that some wierd locales including the singer walking around doing something would really cut up the monotony of them performing, even though it was done well (editing, camerawork) it really is impossible these days to hold somebodies attention with just the band playing (without effects or some sort of gag that's present throughout the video)

Anyways - my 4 cents, peace, keep it up man

-Monte
