Hey everyone.
Im another one of those long time readers/first time posters.

I finaly have some stuff to show. Go to this address and then click download next to the list of movies.

I am kind of a noob at compression, so I just used MP4.

The music video and the commercials were shot on 16 and the two shorts were shot on a DVX. Color correction still needs to be done(badly i might add) but you will get an idea.

Thanks for your time and let me know what you guys think! I hope to get into this community offering any knowledge of mine and learning tons from you guys.

Most importantly, Let me know what you think!

Thanks
Keegan

Thanks guys for the nice words!

As you can probably tell, they need post work (CC mostly)

I am a sophomore at Chapman University's film school. These wwere my projects for this semester.

Anybody have any constructive criticism on any of them? I am submitting the commercials to converse this week. Wish me luck !

Thanks and look forward to more comments!

I liked the trash one alot. The 16mm looks really great, I wish I could get film burns like that. They just look so cool! BTW, that greyboy instrumental is awsome. What was the beat you used at the beginning of homeboy love?

Mr. Blonde - I kinda disagree with you. I think that the plot/story line were good. However, I think the acting emphasis' were bad and threw the movie off. Just the overall direction of the movie didn't flow on the key points that needed to be made... i.e. The dads struggle with the streets and emphasizing the daughters hatred for her missing dad all her life. Hope I dont sound like I am making up excuses, but I thought the writing was decent and the story was good, just not the acting/directing.

PDX DVX - Thanks for the kind words. Film is fantastic, especially if you have access to doing it cheaply (school for me). If you like the effect of burn/roll outs, you can always add them in post. Either make one in FCP/AE or just get some plug in. But That just happened to be right on time for the skateboard one.
Yeh Greyboy is awesome. That music wont make it for the final version that is sent to converse (rights). For Home Boy Love, a friend of mine who makes beats for some of the guys in Wu-Tang made them for us. If you want the songs, just email me and I will hit you up with them. Keegangibbs@mac.com

Yeah, homeboy love was really kind of pointless. I wasn't entertained at all, it just was kind of..............there. It just lacked anything that made me want to see the end (I did watch it all though). Everything that happened was just a little too cliche for a serious gangster flick. Try and find a new angle to spin it off of, something you don't see very much.

But I really liked Yup. It was simple and didn't really go anywhere either but the charm of the whole thing really was a fun. I also liked the converse stuff.

Didn't watch the music video.

I wanted to do one of the converse videos, but isn't the contest over? I liked yours, I hope for your sake that it isn't.

Thanks guys

So I guess the overall concern with Home Boy Love is...well..."ugh".

And I guess, although I did shoot it, would have to agree. It was one of those projects you had high hopes for, but just didnt materialize. I think the directing/acting needed much more work (this was the first time the director had ever done a piece with dialogue). So to say the least, it needs some more work.

Hopefully he hasnt locked the picture yet. I will probably pull it off the site and gonna sit down with the director/editor and express everyone's concerns and see if we can somehow fix it with some editing :undecided we'll see what happens.

I am glad everyone likes my commercial spots and "yup" for the most part. Thanks for the kind words and criticism. You never really know how something turns out until you have some fresh eyes to look at it.

Thanks
