Finally I get to ask my stupid question.

Hi everybody,
I am finally getting my hands on a DVX100. Where (if at all) have some good everyday settings been posted. I have seen them reffered to but have not found them. I want to get the best image possible from the camera (duh?) But I am not used to this size of camera. I just sold my JVC GY-DV500, and am getting the DVX tomorrow. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks alot.

;D

Re: Finally I get to ask my stupid question.

If you look in the manual, there is a guide to some 'default' SCENE FILE SETTINGS. I personally use # 5 and then adjust them accordingly.

I am finding one of the more important things to do is a wHITE bALANCE before shooting and then paying attention to Exposure. As far as settings go, I think there are so many variables that it's more a matter of experimenting.

Thanks John,
I actually don't get my hands on the camera until tomorrow. I will probably feel more comfortable after I read the manual. I agree with what you said about variables. I find that most every shoot I go on is distinct and quite unique when it comes to lighting, shadow and movement. Thanks again.

Exactly.

Actually, the Manual is shite. :(

Check out Shai's DER BESUCH Trailer thread. There is a lot of talk of Scene File settings in it (some of the best footage Ive seen!)

BTW Congrats on getting your cam!!! :)

Re: Finally I get to ask my stupid question.

Ok, I picked up my camera today. I love it. It is a little strange being much smaller than my other camera, but the image is so great that I think I can get used to the weight change. Thanks for the tips. The Der Besuch thread really helped. ;D HOORAY.
