After the right channel going out on my motherboard sound card I tried a few different sound cards (E-MU line = will not work at all, soundblaster live 24bit = had to disable in order to capture via firewire but at least played) and none worked! Well I am glad to say that I Finally found a great card that works flawlessly with Avid Xpress Pro.

I picked one of these guys up today to record music with and then out of curiosity I fired up Avid and tested it out, and it works great, so far without a hitch. (crossing fingers)
Just thought I would share this info to maybe help out someone who may run across the same problems I have.
I am also able to record directly into avid with it on two channels, The Firepod is capable of recording 10 channels if anyone knows it there is a way to activate recording on the additional 6 channels let me know!
