Finally...consumer cam, 120fps, 720p

So... Is it official that the GH3 has 120 fps in 720p?? Can't read it anywhere but that would be awesome...

[kurth]

nope...this discussion is about the lx7, not the gh3...sadly !

It looks like there are actually TWO ways to add optical accessories to the LX-7:

1) a filter adapter that screws onto the lens itself and allows the mounting of 37mm thread ND filters, polarizers, etc....
2) a bayonet mount hidden under a cosmetic ring on the body that allows an adapter tube to be mounted, which then allows the mounting of 52mm thread accessories, like wide-angle, telephoto, and fisheye converter lenses. This tube is now available on eBay, search for a "LX7 adapter tube".

This makes the LX-7 an even more flexible video (and photo) tool.

This. Just like LX5.

....can't vouch for my memory, or the accuracy of the report...but I remember seeing it, and it looked like a step-up adapter in one of the announcements ...thereby allowing a small variable nd along with the internal , as well as others, like a #25 for b&w

....as I said...first one to post some 720/120 footage gets the prize. There's nothing mentioned about recording qualities. I was disappointed in the time lapse feature , which obviously states individual frames would not be assembled in camera and will reserve opinion on the sweep panorama feature ...both of which useful .

Here's some 120fps video, also included a short clip of GH2 slowed down for comparison

CLEARLY the LX7 is better......because it causes women to wear less clothes.

That was almost exactly my reaction too ... actually it was more like, "I'll stand in line to buy one of these, if it comes with the chance to meet comely young gymnasts!"

So what's wrong with a JVC GC-Px100 camcorder that can shoot 720p at 120 fps?

Unfortunately it is not out yet, so we can't really tell what the image looks like. It certainly will not rival the GH2, but I am optimistic about the high framerates!
