Finally...consumer cam, 120fps, 720p

first one who posts 720/120p footage gets a prize !

...and I just read your post HHL and sure enough the lx7 has 720/120p as well - that sure changes my rx100 dreams

and it takes the lvf2 as well !

and it has an ND filter !!

ARGH!!!! If they had a bigger sensor like the RX100, I'd pee for sure. (Or if the RX100 had NDs +120fps)....too bad they don't make whoopie and have a baby bad ass pocketcinematography camera.....maybe if I put them in the same room and dim the lights??? :)
 
The LX7 looks really great - beautiful lens on a sensor that is very close to 16mm 2/3. I wonder what the dynamic-range is like in video?

Here's a link from dpreview that is referring to the RX100, but gives comparisons that include what you'll get on the LX7. Though the LX7 sensor is smaller still.

I wonder how soon someone will release a water housing for the LX7. 720p120 would be great for shooting surfing from the water.
 
If APS-C is close to FF to you, then yeah, it is close.

...am I reading the wikipedia sensor size chart wrong ? 1/1.5 would be 2/3's....right ?

Nope, you're not reading it wrong - the LX7's 1/1.7" sensor is close to 2/3" (I guess you could call it "1/1.5") - see image below:

simon...i knew that ...it occurred to me that maybe manakiin was thinking about the 1/2.33 sensor in the fz200 , not the lx7 ...but obviously the threads subject changed to the lx7 when HHL pointed out it also had 720/120p - good chart but it doesn't have regular 16mm ! thanx
