This is the coolest site on the net! I just ordered my DVX100A
thanks to you guys! I've shot several featrures with the canon XL1S and won a few awards for my film looking and cinamatography but this camera (dvx100a) blows the doors off of anything (prosumer) I've seen so far! I can't wait to push this camera to its limits and further. It's nice to know
I have a home here to share tips, and post examples of my work for you guys to review. It all begins here!

Oh bye the way does any one know if NAB produced an XL2?
I kinda hope not , It would be nice to see Panasonic stay ahead of Canon for a change. I'm not knocking the XL1 at all ,
I would just like to see the little Panny rock out for a little while longer!

Cheers :D

Re: Finally a place where I fit in!

no worries.. DVX has just born.. and it's going to be your last SD camera

Re: Finally a place where I fit in!

The DVX will definitely be king of the hill for at least the next year. Sony's just launched their PD170 line, so they won't be competing until their HDV camera launches. And Canon not only failed for the fourth year in a row to bring out an XL2, but they also failed to bring out a GL3. It was really sad, seeing this huge booth proclaiming "XL1s", and like five Canon employees working it, and maybe forty cameras all around it, and in the middle of this crowded NAB convention there was one lone visitor... and even he wasn't looking at the XL1s, he was looking at a GL2...

The DVX should remain unchallenged for probably a good year, although there's the remote (remote remote remote) possibility that Canon may actually announce something at the end of this year (but if they do, it'll be HDV and won't ship until the middle of next year).

Hey Barry_Green thanks for the info. I didnt get a chance to get to NAB this year but the visuals I got from the story you told me about the Canon booth (such a shame :-[) made my day. Once again Im not bashing the XL1 but I've had to many nights on the set with problems that were Canon related.
Oh bye the way check out this link on the Canon XL2, very
interesting!
