Final Cut Studio 2 install?

Should I uninstall the content for Final cut studio 1 before I install FCS2? I am wondering if FCS2 will reinstall the old content I had in FCS1. Example I have motion projects that use content from the library. If I delete Motion 2 and the content when I install Motion3 will it reinstall the Motion2 content also? That way my Motion projects still work correctly? Thanks
 
The approach many of us take is to back up critical files to a FW drive or spare internal, and then do a clean install of OS with updates and the FCS2 with updates.

Repairing permissions all along.
