Final Cut Quitting??? Where's my work!

After spending a great deal of time editing this morning, FCP all of the sudden quit. When I opened it back up, everything that I had just been working on for the last couple of hours was gone! The weird thing is that I have my autosaves turned on and it saved my stuff several times. Is there any way of getting my timeline back to how I had it just before it mysteriously quit?

This is very annoying when I spent all morning keyframing certain shots, and editing complex sequences and everything I did is now gone in a flash!

Have you looked in the autosave folder for the project and checked the project files that were automatically saved if they had what you needed?

Re: Final Cut Quitting??? Where's my work!

Thanks, my project was saved in my Austosave folder which was a relief! Now how do I make the timeline that is in my A.S. folder be the main one? The timeline that opens up when I open FCP after it quit was how it was before I did any editing enhancements to it. The one in my A.S. folder has the enhancements.

First, before you do anything after losing work, make sure you save whatever autosaved project you decide to use as a new file.

Also, by default, FCP will always launch with whatever projects were open when you last quit the program. Therefore, all you have to do is have the project open before you quit FCP, and the next time you launch it, the project should be there.

Thanks Jive, I did just that! I saved the file (project) once I located it and I save it every so many minutes now to be on the safe side! I still have the auto save on but I need to make sure I am saving my work!!!
