Here you go..what do you think?
used the letus for this one...;) with the redrock rails and the redrock achromat..would have used the new redrock GG with my RedRock unit but they did not get it out in-time..

god I HATE miniDV compression with a PASSION!!
 
Good Stuff - looked nice and crisp - why didn't you use the Andromeda? It looks nice and crisp to me even if it's DV, perhaps the compression is hiding it...?
 
thanks guys, once you have un-compressed its so hard to go back, so much more color info from the reel-stream mod! I used tape because it was easer with all the takes, it just made sense..and not to mention the fact that the cost of the extra workflow to deal with raw files ..the client was cheap..;(

I sure love the 24mm cheapo lens for that spot, made that guy a real "nerd" With a long lens he did NOT have that effect at all..even with the wardrobe and glasses....

I agree. Thanks for the info.

This will be indistinguishable from other stuff on TV once you replace the dialogue with clean tracks. (I'm aware you're working on it, so it's all good). All in all, really nice work -- especially with the limitations of the format!

I'm curious if young talent = siblings? If so, that's brilliant. Cheers.
 
no no, that guy fit the part when we had our casting call, and his style was "jsut right"...;)

what is this about the guy looking 15? I sure don't get that one!!

well that spot does not look like "miniDV" because how offten do you see 24p and REAL 35mm glass used on "miniDV"?? right? that is why it "feels" like that..it's AMAING what lenses can do to digital video.

Great looking spot Obin! Loved the editing, shot comps, lighting and especially the use of colors (blues and oranges looked great!).

I am assuming the girl was shot green screen and the text (and background?) were composited in post. Did you shoot her with the Andromeda mod for green screen purposes? The key looked AMAZING!

Keep it up.
 
Girl is not a key, that is a real background...you *think* it's a key because the way the text is behind her hair..:)


it's all in the lighting and set design, this spot as you can see uses only the orange/blue/silver..I think this ads a bunch to the feel of the spot.
 
Like I said before it's miniDV>..no reel-stream on this one...I wish I had the time to use it, would have looked 100% better
