Hey all..

I posted the video a short while back but it was just the first cut. Only a few minor changes most would not notice without having them play side by side but just in case anyone missed it or would like to see it again here is their chance. Plus it is a flash file so... easier to watch.. maybe... for some.

Anyway the band is Classic Case, great guys, lotta fun to work with. You can check out the video at their my space page www.myspace.com/classiccase Scroll down, their is a link via a banner middle of the page.

Enjoy, hope to have more to show soon.

oh yeah ... well done dude. cool work, great lighting, great vibe .. slick camera work. I'd be pumped ... you def should be!

That video is damn good looking!

How did you get that cold/blue look? Did you shoot it with a blue type of gel or did you do it in post?

Hey thanks all.. Hate myspace? Say it aint so.. LOL I was just trying to get their page some traffic.

Yeah certainly not the best song from them, they don't even really like it all that much but the label selected it as the first single and most who did not like it initially like it after the video.. and that should be one of the goals right??

Coffee: NO that was post, good ole magic bullet. Used the Berlin plug in but did major tweaking. Boosted the saturation so some skin tones started coming through and messed with the diffusion to pull more of a glow off the fog.

I am happy with how it came out.. band and label seem to be as well so that works..

On a side not, another video I did since then for a metal band is going to be getting both MTV and FUSE airplay soon. They got picked up by universal for distribution so that is part of their deal. Of all the videos I have done I would not have picked that to be the first but... I had done no color correction to it (they needed it a week after shooting) so I might go back and do that, tighten the edit a tad.. we will see. Thanks again for watching all.

Hey I like the look of the vid! wow looks like you spent some major time on setting up the location. How many lights did you use? Oh and on the close up of the singer whats the white on the left edge? :P sorry it just grabs my attention everytime i look at it. By the way congrats on getting some airtime on your music vid man!

Arrrghhh.. the white on the edge LOL.. It only shows in the web version because the window utilizes the whole image, on Tvs it is out of the safety area.. Bassically when shooting those CU I had two flourescents strapped to the matte box like i would do with Kinos. They were just taped on with gaffers tape. The tape had come up on the far edge and the light was hitting the underside of it (hence the reason it is white) and it was not visible in the view finder. Only after it was done did i see it. I could'nt really zoom in without screwing the res so.. I threw some vingnettes and the like but otherwise.. thats the mystery of the white thing.

As to the set up.. did not take that long. I had time to tweal as the band was running late, but it was two Home Depot work lights behind them another single home depot light filling in the backdrop behind them, one 4' Flourescent on the ground in front of the drum kit, 2 22" flourescents on the ground (also used for the CU) and 2 totos used as side fill from eithere side. Thats it.. oh and a couple fog machines. Just did the rest in post. I shot it in a rock club in Charlotte NC where I have shot 3 other music videos (Big shout out to Tremont Music hall.) We used their main room which is basically a wharehous so I just built a set on the floor. I used random stuff outside the club, namely two pallets.

Glad you liked it, and thanks all for the comments and support. Keep wathcing.

Tizzy, that was pretty awesome man! love the look and feel throughout. Great use of the magic bullet plug-in. Very entertaining video, it kept my attention all the way through. Great job man!

Keep up the good work and hope to see some more in the future.

haha well, at least it wont show up on TV(the white edge of course)! jeez I want to make a music vid already! lol....once i get my light kit. decisions decisions. . oh yea and thanks for the info on your setup tizzy :)

damn fine work, tizzy! editing was spot on...really liked the band...btw how many camera's did you use for the shoot?

Actually just one camera on that shoot. Shot the whle video in 5 hours. (not including set up and strike which was less then 2 hours)

Light kit? Whats that? LOL I'm kidding but getting creative wth what you have such as Home depot work lights and flourescents can work.. this video is proof
