rumored to be 42" and 50" plasma displays at $2500 and $3200 or something like that.

They'll have to bo some pretty hopped up plasmas to be able to handle 2/4K resolution.
i dont know how thry'd do it

Why not just hook up two videocards in SLI to do it? Wait a sec, do the new Macs even have SLI?

How they'd make the 2k and 4k thing I have no idea, however, why would it need to be the exact size? Couldn't they just telecine or something to a smaller format to edit and output it back to the 4k sequence? The Andromeda does something like this, but it's by no means 2k or 4k resolution.

In any case, these displays are going to be expensive. Maybe in the $4,000 to $5,000 range to be realistic.

Still, these are just rumors at the moment. Apple may not be making such a radical display at all and the truth of that rumor may just be that they are actually making a bigger Cinema display with little resolution increase over the 30". Who knows?

The most interesting thing right now is the RED camera. Everything else like Final Cut 6 and Premiere Pro 2.0 are just givens. The real question is if this camera really is something or not. Just because of this camera, I'm holding my HVX200 money over just in case. It really could be a good Christmas this year if they can get them out in time! =)

the red is rumored to cost around $200k, better be investing that hvx money into some surefire stocks. but macworld is next week so we'll see what happens as far as the displays go, but i think those are rumored for nab in april along with fcp 6 and all that jazz.
