can anyone recomend some good Filters for my DVX100, or like all the filters I'll need I dont know anything about them like 72mm? or what should i get I'm confused?
72mm is the filter size . The DVX has a 72mm thread. So any 72mm filter will fit the DVX.
Firstly, you should get a u.v or clear fliter to protect the DVX lens. Once it is on, never take it off. It is cheaper to replace the filter with scratches then the camera lens. Do a search in the forum and you will see a few examples of why didn't i buy a filter to protect my DVX.Further more, the more you clean your lens from dust the more you risk scraching it. And dust is something you can't keep away from.
It is better to get one with mulit coated lens. It keeps the lens flair down. You can get a cheap one.
There are polarized filter, they are good for shots that has do with with water and glass. it cuts through and you can see beyond the glass surface and water surface. It also brighten up the colour in a sunny day and you get to see the clouds.
then comes the different N.D. to cut down bright lights.
get a matte box, you are limited on those circular filters. it will be worth every penny. stock up on some ND filters for sure like the last post... get a .3 and a .6. the internal ND filters are so strong, if you just need a small stop reduction you are hosed with the internal choices. grad ND filters are great too, but only get the hard edge ones, they are softer than you think. a .6 grad works great in a lot of situations. as a bonus, a black pro mist filter is also a great filter to have in the tool box. its nice to have a lot of filters while you shoot for exposure control, but the fancy filters are pointless with plug-ins like 55mm which rock. hope this helps.
