Hey,
I managed to bust off my focus ring on my DVX100B due to a freak accident. It broke right between the zoom ring and the focus ring (the focus ring's cable is still intact however), so I'm pretty sure I need a new focus assembly. The tech I have working on my cam right now is an authorized Panasonic tech but has very little experience with this camera. At first he gave me an estimate of close to $2g's on a new lens assembly, which was completely functional and undamaged when I sent it there. Scary.
Here's the thing: The threads of the filter ring are somewhat mashed up so everytime I switch filters, it's a huge pain in the neck. My question is: when I remind the tech (hopefully tomorrow) that I need a new FOCUS assembly, should I tell him I need a new filter ring as well, or is that part of the focus assembly as a whole?
