Filter is stuck! Help!

Put on a .43mm polarizing filter on my new hmc40 today. The filter is stuck spinning on the threads of the inner lens hood. I can spin it in both directions without it getting any looser or tighter...has anyone had this happen, or possibly know why this is going on? I have no idea how to get it off. thanks!
 
Usually a screw in round polariser has an outer layer that turns in both directions. This changes the angle of the light the polariser is working on. Take a close look and make sure you are turning the inner part to remove.
