Films with only 2 characters/films with 1 location or both

"The Closet Land." Alan Rickman and Madeleine Stowe as interrogator and subject.

"No Man's Land" by Danis Tanovic. Two soldiers fighting on opposite sides of the Bosnia-Herzogovina war develop a private conflict. There are some ancillary characters and a couple locations, but this mostly fits the bill.

I never really gave any thought to some of those films until you guys mentioned them. I had a taste of shooting with two people in one location on the feature I'm working on. The film isn't exclusively in 1 location but I bet at least 80% at least is in one place or on one set of property.

The challenge is always the same I suppose. How do you make the same location interesting in each scene that takes place there so you don't bore people. Finding new ways to photograph the same location many times over is tough for sure...I got a taste of that. It forces you to think a lot more though and I definitely learned a lot.

Also picking the home that we did helped us since it was open downstairs, each room didn't have a door to the other room (downstairs at least). In each room you could see into another room so there was some nice depth no matter what I shot, very rarely did I just see a wall.

I'll have to look at some of the films listed to see what was done.
