Filming with DVX100 in a nightclub (No audio peak)

Hello , i got a quick question um i filmed this clip last week it was filmed halfway and still it was red http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wTrvwIg9DY

And the audio was peeking and not very clear at all, is there someway i can set this so the dvx mic does not get muffled and over peaking

I think you guys should watch the link he posted. The point is even though it is a nightclub the DJ is mixing completely unique music live. It is a performance. Would you recommend the same for a concert?

Best option would be a 2nd stationary cam with a feed from the mixing board or use wireless to transmit to your Main cam.

As far as the red there are to schools of thought.

1) It is a club and it is going to be red, so live with it.

or

2) Adjust your color temp and phase to help with the red.

i think he means the audio was peaking therefore the audio was always in the red. i could be wrong. he prolly should come clarify some stuff for people to hepl him more.

Did you have the Mic ALC off? With it ON it will act as a limiter and start attenuating signals at -6dB and attempt to limit the signal at -4.5dB. (ref: Barry's book pg. 77)
