I have a job to do later this yr in which i have to film racing cars...the problem i have is... the footage is going to be used in a private cinema and i would like to shoot in 24p mode but im worried about having to pan fast and get the background all jittery..do you guys advise against 24p for this and just shoot 25 pal ...any help is very welcome as it has to look 100% very important client..

Thanks in advance

Shoot 24P! Even the IMAX film on Champ Car was done at 24FPS as have most classic racing films forever! Also use more than one camera for those famous cross shots. One camera is pointed up track and the other down track and their field of views are just about touching but not quite. When the car rips by, you see it coming at you angle on and then away angle on in the blink of an eye! Really dramatic. Also the pans are very mild and you have the illusion that you panned on the car from one camera but you didn't.

As long as you're moving with the motion of the cars, you're good. AND the farther away you are from the track, the less jitter you'll have.

Thanks guys for the info...ill try the two camera set up i like that idea and it should work good ... I loved the shots of the dessert racing mediamilitia very nice .... it has given me loads of cool ideas...once again thanks guys
