Filming next to an MRI scanner

Can anyone recommend a minimum distance for filming an MRI scanner?

The nurse says that she uses her little digital camera (stills) about six feet away, but I'd like to be pretty sure before I start putting my baby on a tripod. I'm filming a few other machines also, some x-ray based things- anyone have any advice on this?
 
Dude... all I can say is... don't record to a hard drive, and avoid tape if you can. Make sure there's nothing important on your P2 card vefore you begin... then test.

For the X-ray machines... wear a lead vest?
