I am doing outdoor filming today , there is some snow out there , but not alot . the current temp is about 10 degrees. is there going to be any problems i should know about

is the camera going to bind up or run slow? will there be any moisture problems with the camera or the lens?

any advice would be great.

As long as you are shooting to P2 cards you could shoot in the Arctic - see Barry's G posts and sample video from Alaska.

I've shot in the snow and never had a problem; just be sure to cover the camera to keep water out. Lens will fog and have to adjust when you first go outside. But that's all I can think of.

In fact, it's snowing here in Virgina right now. Maybe I should grab my camera and do the same. Have fun!

Only problem is the sticky focus ring on the HPX170; if you're on an HVX200 it isn't a problem. Batteries will last for a lot shorter time too, of course, and if it's really cold the LCD screen will be slow-response and show multiple images. Let the camera acclimate before using it, and you should be just fine.

Can anyone point me to some of Barry's Alaska footage?

Not that I mind going through 35,651 posts, but.......

Let me just google that for myself...........nope.

How about search.......uh, uh.

OK, one post at a time. See y'all in a decade.

filming went awesome!!! The cold did deplete my battery but nothing like having a car charger...lol ... footage looks incredible .... I used a PL filter for the snow off the sun.. only problem I had was not being able to really see the lcd screen.

I put a towel over me to block the light ... it worked ok.
