Hello everybody:

i got my new dvx100B and i want to know if some one of you had experience shooting skate, surf, and snowboarding (or some other kind of action sport),

i really want to knowwhat is better in those cases,, lot of motions in the shoot, so i guess someone will say 60 i, but i want to keep the cine look on my shoots, so i want to choose one way, 24p 30p or 60i,,, but my main concern is to keep the colors into the cinelike look,

before i was shooting super 8mm but films now are hard to finds, so i got my digi dvx just because i saw shoots that it really looks like film.

60i without a DOUBT!!!!!!!

this is a no brainer! If you need to do ANY slow motion at all, you want to record with the highest FPS as possible.

Any sort of "cinema" or "film" look can totally be handled in post.

my 2 cents.

Except that 60i is a lot different than 60p, which is maybe what your referring to? 60i is an interlaced 30fps scan, which will work best if you need to slow things down in post production, but apart from that I would stick with 24 frames for the rest of the action.

thanks,, well yes i dont mean all the action will be slow it down, just some, and since 60 i its kind of like 30p , i was wondering if 30 p will give me at the end better image quality in the general context,
but i know 24p will give me the best image Q of all ,, isn,t?

It seems as if the easiest way is shoot 60i and slow to 40% in a 24p timeline (or 50 in a 60i timeline), giving you frame accurate slow motion. But it does drop the quality.

thanks,, well what about the quality and the film look, consider that the end out put for me will be DvD ,
i heard that in this case 24p is the best.

thanks to all for the replys,, as soon as a shoot some thing good with the dvx i will upload it.

Any time we shot footage that might be slowed down in post on the DVX, we shot 30p. The results with 24p were noticably more laggy.
