filming 24p 16x9

i am looking into purchasing either a dvx or xl2, i am swinging more towards the dvx. my question is, what is the best way for filming 24p 16x9 with the dvx. and what way will fcp handle this footage? will it have to be letterboxed? or squeezed into frame? thanks for your time.

I think the best way to get 16:9 out of the DVX is to use the additional Anamorphic adapter which sells for around $700-800 depending on if you get it new or used. I've never used it and I've only found one clip in the "Screen Grabs / Clips of DVX footage" forum which I linked to here:

I think you shoot the footage onto the 4:3 CCD's and then "unsqueeze" them in Final Cut Pro or other NLE. I'm not 100% sure so hopefully someone with a little bit more experience using the adapter will chime in.
