Made a video about looking back at college (graduated in 04) and what I'd do differently.

Personal stories etc and what can be done to ensure work out of college .

I debated telling the internship story of mine since it was a long one, but yeah - one of the moments I'd go back to if I had a time machine to be honest.

I'd love to hear feedback.

Not bad. A lot of valid info. Especially about demo reels. Amazing how many people devote 30 seconds to graphics titles and intro before the freakin' demo even starts - insane. And then boring, boring stuff that goes on for an eternity. I think your 2 minute limit is too long - it's more like 60 seconds - you must start punching immediately, grab attention and don't let go. Super quick editing doesn't work either - take a few sequences that cover the basics, f.ex. a walk and talk from interior to exterior, night footage and day, character handover two actors and a third comes in, mix of men and women, static and moving, and so on. Keep the reel short and make sure you include easy to grab contact info. Anyhow, lot of good stuff in your vid.

Thanks, wow that you sat and watched the whole thing too LOL.

"https://www.poptent.com/media/24519" This being my almost decade old demo reel btw LOL.

Remember I was with someone who got sent a demo reel, we watched it...it was raw footage of them skateboarding...45 mins worth...a sr. in college btw...damn.

In my experience, the reel is everything (followedd closely by having an avenue to screen it - thereby agreeing with your encouragement to "network"). Even if it's just a reel with spec spots (which are VERY common) and even if you admit that it is all spec - I have hired people to shoot spots for the agency based on a spec reel.
