Film Made for the National Film Challenge

the link in the main post you forgot the f in films. The sound picture and color and acting and so forth needed some work in my humble opinion.

MODIFY. THAT IS MY PET PEEVE. MOD-I-FYYYYYYYYYYY!

But I digress; the movie was... interesting enough.

My friend chugged a glass of gravy once. Looked the same way when he threw it back up - but I'm straying from the main topic at hand. "G" struck me as a shot of nostalgia as my cousins and I would make movies like that when we were younger. The content was okay, some of it dragged on for a bit, but otherwise it was an alright film. My main beef with it was stability with the camera. That's all, really.

MODIFYYYYYYYYY MODIFYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Yeah, we had no control of the content of the film, it was set up by the folks at the National Film Challenge. Ours were:

Prop: Gravy
Character: Pat Oglesby, door-to-door salesman
Genre: Fantasy
Dialogue: Ahh, but can you do this?

As far as the stability of the camera, we tried to emulate the look of the tv show "Cops," There were other parts that were shaky but we thought it fit the film.

What exactly do you mean by modify?

Thanks for the input.

Hmn. I'd say you shot yourself a strange video there.
HA!

If Pete Murphy says your joint is strange -- well that's like Rob Zombie saying your movie had a ton of graphic violence. Pete makes strange (and good) movies.

I liked the line
"Dude sells knives ... he's gonna cut stuff."
lol.

If anyone would like to give me some feed back on our film please go to www.somewestilms.com and check out the downloads page the film is called "G."

i entered a film last year with my friend in the same competition and we one best special effects (national award) and best use of line of dialogue (regional award)

Yeah, the whole lighting thing was a pain, but what are you gonna do when you only have 48 hours to write, shoot, edit, and submit the film with a zero dollar budget. We did what we could. In the future we plan to make lighting a very important part of the film.

we entered and git our film off a day late -- was our first time putting all systems on line and our jaws hit the floor when we hit render and the screen said -- 20 hours remaining (due to the old Magic Bullet on a Mac).

But we submitted and were judged and ranked somewhere within the top three, though we couldn't win.

That's awesome that you won awards last year, we didn't win anything this year, we attribute that to lack of bond with cast and crew. Now that our crew is finally bonded and set I think next year we will make a higher quality film.

That sucks about the rendering. when I first started out editing I used Pinnacle on PC and had horrible problems such as that. Thank god for new technology and bank loans!
