Film Look

Hello:

Need some assistance. I shot a live concert on beta-sp. Cutting it on final cut pro. Is there a special plug-in to give it a film look?

MB for E doesn't do the essential 24p effect, but fortunately my Film Effects at http://www.nattress.com does, and it does it really well. It was recently used on the Mary Poppins DVD to make the newly shot digibeta footage match the film backgrounds.

Film Effects does work well on individual clips. The only problem is when you add it to an already cut movie it blends the edits. Also, when you add it to individual clips, you have to make sure you keep the 3:2 pulldown sequence intact from one clip to the next, which is a major hassle. DV filmmaker is better in this respect. http://www.dvfilm.com/maker/

Ah, but if you use the Standards Converter at www.nattress.com on your source footage as you would with DV Film Maker, then you can edit in a 23.98fps timeline and avoid the issues you present. Both the Standards Conversion 24p and Film Effects 24p do tend to look better than Dv Film Maker though, but don't take my word for it - try it yourself.
