Film look...

What settings do you guys use in AE for that film look? When doing color correction? I've watched many youtube video's but seems like for some reason I couldn't immulate their film look.

Whats your method to get that film look?

"Film Look" is too broad of a term. The best thing to do will be for you to post a frame that has the look you want.

This way people will be able to dissect it with you, and point out the different elements and techniques working together to create the overall look you would like to emulate.

Proper acting technique
Editing- pacing, continuity, things like that

Color correction, depends on the scene, the camera, the captured settings, etc. Usually crushing blacks, increasing overall contrast and diffusing highlights helps. Sometimes less saturation is needed, sometimes more. And it goes at the bottom of the list on purpose.

If you take half a minute to search the forum you will see that this has been beaten to death and there are plenty of discussions that tell you what you want.

Better place to start until we hear more from Yfnb707.

Color correction , or color grade or grading, is a important part of the workflow on film.
For starting I suggest you to search for some book where is explained teory before and pratical cases after. The possibility are several and change from person to person.
