Film Look Series (HVX200)

Great work JM - really dig it.
Can you give us a quick rundown of the post workflow?
I'm curious as to what order you attacked this stuff (ie. roughcut, colorwork, alpha channel work, etc).

Thanks for sharing - I love seeing that DVXusers are out there creating stuff....
Keep it up.
:thumbsup:

(and thanks for any insight on the process)

@stridernou I did use motion for some of the animation, like the boat sinking in the puddle and the words coming out of her mouth; otherwise, for the running wolves, birds, etc. I rotoscoped wildlife footage in Photoshop frame by frame

@louis caffesse thanks -- we had two locations to shoot - him in new york, her in chicago, so I storyboarded basic shots I wanted and we shot it over three weeks. I cut a rough version that I could start animating to, without doing the multiple-box-flow thing yet (which I eventually accomplished by taking rectangular mattes of roughly five second increments and pasting them together - usually five or so on top of each other). Animating took the longest time; it took six months of on-and-off rotoscoping to finally finish it. Near the end of the process, I started coloring using Magic Bullet and FCP's 3 way CC. The last thing to top-off was the words, which I did in Motion. Those and all the rotoscoping were done with a Wacom tablet, which is a really useful tool.

@timurcivan thanks
