Film Effect, Opinion

Hey guys... I haven't posted much at all, but now I am diving in.
This is a short I am working on. This was a rushed shoot, in -8 degree weather, so I'm not completely happy with some of the shots. (Camera movement)

I put a tweaked magic bullet film effect on it, and I am wondering what you think of the film effect? Is it good, or is it too much?

Thanks!

What camera and lighting package were you working with (looks like you were lighting up big areas). Did you use Gain?

I quite liked the look and setting (thought parts of the edit could tighten up a litttle though - just to streamline the narrative a bit).

On the whole I liked it though - well done.

I used a DVX100B, and just the lights that were present. Like I said, extremely rushed, basically go out and film it.

What do you mean by tightening up the edit?

I know there were some continuity issues bothering me.

I agree with tightening up the edit meaning some of the shots were just a bit too long before the cut. One example was when the guy was walking around the corner before he got jumped. There was a bit to much time so I was not surprised when the guy was waiting around the corner cause I had time to think about it. Sometimes just cutting a few frames can make all the difference. I liked it though cause I like simple stuff with ambiguous endings. A little diologue could be cool too. Nice work....

It looks good, have to agree with everyone else on tightening up the edit.
But it as pretty good.
What program did u use for those titles?

Loved the titling, would like to know details on how it was done.

Sound: sounded good, not much to hear but what was there was nice

Visuals: I'd like to see tighter shots, more interest in each shot

I'm going to have to agree with most posts here and say some of the shots were too long. I'd go by each walking scene and cut half of it out just to see what it looks like then start tweaking here and there. Trim the fat, so viewers don't have to chew forever to get to the meat.

This all makes sense. I must agree, the walking shots are too long.
Thanks guys!

I use Final Cut Studio for all my work. Motion was used for the titles.
There was a behavior called "Grunge (1-3)", which I added to the text, then modified.

I am not finished mixing the sound. I have some sound effects that enhance some of the scenes.
