FileMaker Database for MXF

Has anyone imorted MXF data from P2 folders into FileMaker?

MXF is based on XML. FileMaker reads XML files. You need to construct an XSL sheet for it, though.

I'm about to tinker with this, but wanted to make sure I wasn't reinventing the wheel.

Please let us know how this works; as I am quite interested in this as well and would like to know if it is a smooth workflow.

If you're looking to build a media database, the Mac Digital Clip Library www.imagineproducts.com is already there. Use HDLog to import P2 volumes, then send the log files with media auto-converted to QT into the central database.

Don't want to save the full rez video? Simple. Use the Clips Split/Compress feature in HDLog to downconvert to say H264 or PhotoJpeg and share that on your database. Since using HDLog to do the cataloging retains the P2 MXF clip name, you can always get back to the archived original if needed.
