File too Small

Hi everyone so I have an HD short (Prores hq) and when i export it raw quicktime its a little over a gig, it's only 59 seconds. When i compress it for a dvd however it goes down to something like 59 mbs and looks terrible. I've looked it up and i've done all the highest settings in both compressor and Episode pro, they all look bad! So I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts? I mean i've got 4 gbs for a dvd how can i get the most out of them! thanks in advance:thumbup:

not a mac user, but is your eye so used to looking at HD that SD just looks like crap no matter the quality? i catch myself in that quite a bit...i'll edit for 10 hours and export at the best dvd settings and hate it...then i watch the dvd a day or two later, and it looks pretty good...just a thought

The first thing you need to know is who is your intended audience? Do you need SD DVD so consumers can play it back, or are you trying to send files to another editor?

Send files to your audience that will be the best. Most of the time that isn't a Quicktime File.
