Hi. I've just finished a shoot, my first after the latest firmware update, and the file naming has become a little odd. Why do they have the 1's in brackets? I worked from a freshly formatted card.
Did you switch back and forth between codecs to do high speed shots? I've had this happen when I've done that. Best as I can tell, when you switch codecs back and forth, there can be some miscommunication about the current/next file name, and it assigns the same one twice.
You might have this for a completely different reason, but that's when I've seen this happen.
Are the shots with (1) different takes at different times or do they follow the clip with same name? Are the shots followed by a (1) version long takes? It might be that due to card structure these show as two files but are read as one long one. I've seen similar on media with a fat32 file system that had 4GB limits.
I have only had this happen to me once since getting camera in December... and in my case I had to pull battery because camera froze during shoot - and then I only had a couple of duplicate names...but I think it's simply a bug.
See the Sony community forum thread about it here: https://community.sony.com/t5/FS7/Clip-numbering-Mayhem/td-p/494032
Yes, it is a bug and happens randomly, impossible to find a pattern to it. Very irritating. I'm hearing that F55, F5 and other Sony cameras have had the same issue which remains unresolved. It is well documented - again, user error has nothing to do with it, it is a bug.
